Community Recreation Centers are large recreational facilities with outdoor space that are conveniently located throughout the City of Columbia.  These centers each have a full-size gymnasium for multiple uses including athletics, exercise programs, and special events, as well as multi-purpose areas that can be utilized for meetings, educational and enhancement programs, and workshops. Additionally, our Community Recreation Centers offer game rooms with pool tables, air hockey, table tennis, Foosball, and a full-size kitchen. The centers’ outdoor areas boast a playground, spray pool, community gardens, athletic ball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts and plenty of outdoor aesthetic green space for the community to enjoy. The Community Recreation Centers strive to meet the needs and interests of all age groups and demographics in the City of Columbia.

 

Ben Arnold

1100 S. Holly Street
Ben Arnold community center has a gymnasium and meeting facilities. The play area features new equipment. The center offers a variety of programs, from jumping rope to basketball to ceramics. The park is next to Memorial Stadium and backs up to the Owens Field Park Complex. Rosewood Park is across the street.

 

 

Busby Street Community Center

The Busby Street Community Center  houses a large multipurpose room that can be divided into three smaller meeting spaces, state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment, three office spaces, a kitchen and conference room. The 6,968-square-foot community center is part of the The Busby Street Complex, which includes the Columbia Police Department’s 1,439-square-foot Office of Community Services, playground and walking trail.

 

Hyatt Park/Leroy Moss Multi-Purpose Center

Hyatt Park is across the street from the Eau Claire Town hall. Hyatt Park has grassy areas, picnic tables, a small stream, baseball diamonds, and a community center with a gymnasium.

 

Greenview Park

Greenview Park is a multi sport complex that offers recreational amenities inside and outside of the park. The park consists of multiple ball fields, 9-court tennis facility, outdoor swimming pool, walking trail, playground area and a picnic shelter. Indoor amenities consists of a game room, multiple meeting rooms that include a ceramics room, computer room, teen room, three meeting rooms, full size kitchen, fitness room and a gymnasium that seats 299 persons.

 

Lorick Park

Lorick Park has a community center, basketball courts, a baseball diamond, picnic shelters and a water spray. The community center has a game room and offers access to computers with Internet access.

 

Martin Luther King Jr. Park

This Park is located in the heart of the Five Points business district. It also is home to three communities that make up the Waverly Neighborhood of communities. The park has a baseball field, playground area for all ages and large outdoor space that features many events throughout the year (i.e. Summer Jazz Festival, St. Patrick’s Day Celebration). The Park is also home to the Stone of Hope in Honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The community center has a full size basketball court, exercise room, game room, meeting rooms, computer room, kitchen, ceramic room and a computer room with WIFI capabilities.

 

 

Pinehurst Park

Pinehurst Park has a baseball diamond and a playground area. There is also a spray pool and a community center. Off-street parking is available as well as water fountains and restrooms in the community center. The community center offers a game room, gymnasium and use of computers with internet access.

 

 

Woodland Park

Woodland Park has tennis courts, picnic tables, a baseball diamond and a playground as well as a community center. The playground has been renovated recently- the play equipment is in excellent condition. This is a very neat play structure with lots of different climbing activities. The area is not shaded but the surrounding grassy area has plenty of shade, including the swings which are separate from the rest of the play structure. Water and restrooms are available in the community center as well as a gymnasium. The community center has computers with internet access.
